Dr. Richard Kiesling
Lake Ecosystem Ecology: Biological and Hydrologic Sustainability of Lake Ecosystems
Dr. Richard L. Kiesling is an aquatic ecologist and limnologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. Dr. Kiesling holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Minnesota (1980) and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Michigan (1990) with specialization in limnology and community ecology. Dr. Kiesling’s current research includes studies of the effects of land use and hydrologic modifications on nutrient fate and transport in aquatic ecosystems. His primary interest in this work is linking spatial analysis of watersheds with biological response models. Dr. Kiesling’s areas of expertise include aquatic ecology, surface water hydrology, and population biology.
